More Storms

Tis the season I guess—thunderstorms and rain all through the night.  Our friends Jeane and Steve were hammered with hail last night—tore siding off their house, broke a window, did extensive damage to their vehicles and essentially destroyed her flowers and gardens.  We haven’t had any hail, only rain.

In light of the fact that Jeane and Steve suffered so much damage to their vehicles, we washed the big Ford dually this morning and took the truck down to the big garage by the road just in case!

The senior center in town where Nat eats lunch almost every day does not serve on Thursday, Saturday or Sunday.  I called and invited Nat for lunch—BLT’s on homemade bread, potato salad and the most to die for dessert—raspberry cheesecake ice cream.

After lunch I went downstairs to quilt.  While I was searching for something else I ran across a little July 4th wall hanging I made two winters ago while at Lake Medina.  I decided to do something for myself—quilted it and sewed the binding on—just needs the hand work now.  Sorry Aunt Marg!  And I have to find some black backing fabric for Aunt Marg’s Japanese Yen quilt anyway, the muslin was not working.

My Mom is one of six daughters (my poor Grandpa!) and today is one of her sister’s 62nd wedding anniversary.  Happy Anniversary Aunt Valeta and Uncle Frank Lee.  They lived near us when I was growing up and were always a stable, loving presence in our lives as kids.  They have one daughter, Mary Ellen who lives near them.

We are off to a party tonight to meet some of the new neighbors moving to the area.  Hope the weather behaves—it is an outdoor party!
