Family Time

In the past I've flown a lot, for twelve years I flew two or three times per month, racking up all those airline and hotel points.  Flying these days is an exercise in pure torture!  Yesterday it was vomiting children--I felt so sorry for the mom but not for the obnoxious guys in first class who had the misfortune to catch the brunt of the child's lunch.  Then it was an over three hour layover in the Denver airport with two gate changes and icky airport food.  It was good to see my Mom and sister Ann waiting for me in baggage claim.

Today was spent playing with the great nieces and visiting with family.  It was rainy and cloudy most of the day making the little girls swim sessions a touch nippy!!

Tomorrow I am off to spend the day with my sister in law Vicky.

  1. I just totally dislike flying any more. Can't believe that I used to like it.

  2. Yup, there is a lot to be said for travelling down the road in our tin cans with out pets along, not being subected to other peoples problems or illnesses or smart alecky comments... haha

  3. Nothing like great family time:) Enjoy your time making memories! We leave Sunday to visit some friends before making our visit to my mother's. I haven't seen her since the fall because the winter wouldn't allow her to visit in FL.

  4. About age 11, my girlfriend and I sat in the bottom of the empty pool while it slowly filled at the beginning of summer. We were going to "stay in until it gets over our heads". Ha! at only ankle height by 8 pm we were freezing and bored! Doubt the nieces would admit it was nippy :-) !
Enjoy the family time and be glad you're no longer a frequent flyer. And don't even think about all the mischief your cowboy and Emmi are getting into back home :-).

  5. I too flew around the world and into continental US and all over Canada - often - in my working life. I despise air travel today. Oh, sure, I do fly, from time to time, but I sure don't look forward to it. There was a time when air travel was quite pleasant. Not anymore.

Enjoy your visit with family. Sounds like fun!

  6. I'm with you on the flying. If that was the only way I had to go anywhere, I would become a couch potato in one place instead of driving it everywhere. :)
